Paul is an improviser based in Johannesburg and is the founder of The Assembly Improv South Africa.​

He has studied long-form improvisational comedy and sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), The Second City, The iO Theater, The Groundlings, The Annoyance Theatre and The Assembly Toronto. He has also studied clowning with the London Clown School, Avner Eisenberg, Chad Damiani and Ken Hall.
